E
January 26, 2000
Project 208-07-02
Mr. Mr. Robert Matthews
More For Less
3336 Bradshaw Road, Suite 260
Sacramento, CA 95927
Subject: Summary of Efforts to De -water the Secondary Containment Sumps at
More for Less #7,15 East Grant Line Road, Tracy, California
Dear Mr. Matthews:
Attached is a summary table of Parker Environmental Services efforts to de -water the
secondary containment sumps at the Subject site. There are three 12,000 -gallon tanks
storing gasoline at this location. The gasoline tank piping to the pumps has fiberglass
trenches beneath the piping to serve as secondary containment. The trenches are filled
with pea gravel, and are sloped so that liquid caught in the trench will flow to the tank
tops underneath the manhole covers. Last season all pea gravel and debris was
removed from the sump areas.
The surface above the trenches in Tracy appears to prevent the majority of precipitation
from entering the trenches. We expected the trenches to be fairly full after this past
weekend storm dropped 4-5 inches. However, less than a barrel was in the sump on
Tuesday.
Six barrels containing 285 gallons of water with gasoline were emptied by Ramos
Environmental Services today. A copy of the manifest is attached.
Sincerely:
PARKER ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES
aames D.
