INS CTIONS_ FOR STQRE PERSONNEL
a) LEAK OE±TECTORS — This is a device that is underground in the fuel system piping,
There Is one device per product.
This device is designed to cut the fuel flow down to a trickle when it senses a leek or
pressure drop in the product line.
There are several reasons for this device to trip:
1, A customer can hold the nozzle open before turning on the pump, thus
tripping it.
2. In cold weather, the product can contract while then station is closed at night.
3. The device could be dtfectivo.
4. The device is sensing a least.
If the leak detector trips, you can reset It by simply turning on one of the gas dispensers
of that product type and letting It run for a minimum of 30 seconds without dispensing
fuel from that nozzle or any other of that product type. This pressurizes the line and
resets the detector.
If the leak detector continues to trip -or starts to top every morning,'CALL Honthre Markets, it e.
'(510)732•5700 '
If you cannot get the detector to reset or it trips more than once, then call Bonfare Markets,
'Inc, and strut the product dowry that is giving the problem,
NOTE: You do riot have to shut the whole gas island down, just the product type that is
giving you trouble.
b) LEAK SENSOR 11-- In the backroom of the store is,a monitor box that says Leak
Sensor I1 / Veddor Root System or Gllbarco EMC,
This device monitors the cavity between the primary and secondary fuel tanks for
gasoline or water_
These units have a set of alarm lights, a power light, and all audible alarm to inform the
personnel in the store if anything is wrong. This unit must be checked daily to make
sure the power light is on and there have been no alarms.
If an alarm light comes on. but no audible alarm is heard, the unit is detecting waltr
somewhere in the secondary containment and must he called in to' BonrarcMicts. to
be checked and reset,
If ars alarm light comes on and an audible alarm is heard, the urdt is detecting gasoline
ill the smcand2n/ cont inr;-ent and muss be called into'aOnfare bAkts. > to
8 'd H9L' ON Sh l dddhN3 a00dU WdSS: Z I VOOZ ' 0 [ - AON
