The probe
features a float switch to detect liquid in the dispenser sump and a 11 " loop of carbon
polymer material to detect fuel. The resistance of carbon polymer changes drastically
as it comes into contact with hydrocarbons. This characteristic is used to detect and
report fuel.
Benefits
The Dispenser Sump probe will distinguish between fuel and water. The probe is
non-destructive. It can be re -used without limitation, and it is not sensitive to vapor.
The probe's small size allows it to be installed in a dispenser pan under the dispenser.
Type (Water Detection) Float Switch
Type (Fuel Detection) Carbon Polymer
Length 3611
Minimum Water detected 1 "
Minimum Fuel Detected .0625"
Recommended Location
The Dispenser Sump Probe should be mounted vertically in the Dispenser Sump. The
probe, including the head, can be installed in a 4" diameter pipe.
Control Engineers, Inc. Page 14
