i •
 Touchstone
Developments
Environmental Management
August 24, 1994
Chevron U.S.A. Products Company
P.O. Box 5004
San Ramon, California 94583-0804
Attention: Brett Hunter
Reference: Domestic Water Well Sampling
Chevron Station No. 9-2396
2565 Highway 99 North
Acampo, California
Gentlemen:
This letter has been prepared at Chevron's request to
document two water sampling events performed at the above
referenced site. On June 24, 1994 and July 28, 1994 a
Touchstone representative met with Harlin Knoll of San
Joaquin County Health Department, Environmental Health
Division to collect water samples from a domestic water well
located near the frontage road west of the pump islands.
A valve was placed at the well head and the well was
stressed by running water inside the station building. As
the well cycled on, water samples were collected in 40 ml
volatile organic analyzing glass vials (VOAs) from the
valve. The VOAs were checked to make sure no headspace or
bubbles were left in the VOAs. The VOAs were label, entered
on a Chain -of -Custody form, placed in a cooler on ice and
transported to Superior Precision Analytical, Inc., a State -
certified analytical laboratory located in Martinez,
California.
Four VOAs were collected during each sampling event and
analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) calculated
for gasoline according to EPA Method 8015 modified, Benzene,
Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylenes (BTEX) according to EPA
Method 8020. Samples collected from both events were not
detected at or above the laboratory detection limits (ND)
for TPH-gas and BTEX. The certified analytical reports from
the laboratory are attached.
P.O. Box 2334 • Santa Rosa, CA 93405 • Office: (707) 538-8818 • Fax: (707) 538-8812 • Mobile/Fax: (707) 484-5112
