•
Universal Sensors and Devices, Inc. Leak Alert systems are designed specifically for detecting
leaks in underground storage tanks. The system uses two types of sensing probes designed for
use in hazardous locations: LALS-1 thermal element capable of detecting the presence of any
liquid, and LAVS-1 metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) element that recognizes the presence of
most combustible and organic vapors.
Each Leak Alert system includes an electronic control enclosure, which is mounted in a non-
hazardous location, and one or more remote sensors (liquid / vapor) located in the hazardous
location.
This instrument system should be inspected for shipping damages after unpacking. If any
damage is found, please notify the carrier and factory immediately.
Universal Sensors and Devices, Inc. (USD), warrants the original purchaser that its instrument
and component parts thereof, will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period
of one year from the date of shipment. USD's sole obligation under this warranty is to replace
defective parts, F.O.B. USD's factory, or, at USD's sole election, to repair defective parts without
charge. Claims under this warranty must be made in writing within 15 days after the defects are
discovered, which period of time is expressly agreed to be reasonable. All such claims must be
substantiated by USD's inspection department.
Warranty forms must be completed and returned to validate the warranty. See form for more
information.
Universal Sensors and Devices, Inc. will not be liable for any consequential damages, includ-
ing, without limitation, damages resulting from loss of use, special, indirect, incidental or other
damages of any type including, but not limited to, damages related to lost sales and profits,
excessive or increased costs and expenses, field recall and retrofit costs and expenses, down-
time costs and claims of user for such damages.
Authorization must be obtained from the factory before returning items for any reason. When
requesting authorization, please state reason for return, the date of purchase, instrument serial
number, or your P.O. number and our invoice number if available.
