EBW Auto Limiter 11 Valve Component
Inspection Procedure
EBW's Autol-irniter 11 drop tube mounted overfill
prevention valve includes an inspection port for
the addition of a small, resealable inspection
port though, an inspection of the valve's internal
flapper assembly can now also be done.
Periodic Auto Limiter Component and
Function Inspection
Looig Needed
* #2 Phillips Screwdriver
* Flashlight
* EBW Service Kit (Part #90082)
* Tape Measure or Dipstick
Warning The storage tank may be under
Apressure. Vent the tank prior to
removing this drop tube. Highly
combustible petroleum vapors
sparking tools.
7osSpill Containment (Ref.)
Figure A
1. Remove the fill adapter from the spill containment
riser pipe.
2. Using odip stick ortape measure, determine the
height ofthis flange off the bottom ofthe tank.
Record this dimension.

@. Remove the drop tube/valve assembly from the
storage tank fill riser.
4. Place the drop tube assembly ona flat surface with
the float side ofthe overfill valve up.
6. Lay your tape measure ordipstick next tothe
drop tube aligning the top flange tothe dimension
number obtained from Step 2.Locate, onthe
overfill valve assembly, the machined ring adjacent
tothe upper float. This ring should beidentified
with a^&5%"stamp. Record the dimension nn
the dip stick mrtape measure that aligns with this
^0596^identification ring. This iethe second stage
shutoff point for this valve installation. This should
boset hVrnomore than S5Y6oftank capacity.
Figure B
M. From the tank chart for this tank, determine the
dimension off of the tank bottom for 95%oftank
capacity. Compare this determined dimension to
the dimension obtained inStep 5.Your calculated
g696capacity dimension should bmequal to, or
greater than, the actual dimension measured in
Step 5.|fyour calculated dimension ielower, then
the installation for this overfill valve imincorrect and
needs bubmimmediately addressed.
7. Locate the Phillips head screw onthe right side of
the float linkage (Figure C).Remove the screw and
save it for reinstallation.
ENVIRONMENTAL
10
HEALTH DEPARTMENT
