a I'
Garrett Backus [EH]
From: Garrett Backus [EH]
Sent: Monday, February 04, 2013 8:27 AM
To: 'Marty Weithman'
Subject: RE: Chevron, 6633 Pacific Ave, Stockton; LD issue
M a rty,
We can do a reinspection and witness a passing test of the leak detector. We will charge Chevron for the time spent at
the site. No permit needed. We'll have to schedule the testing with SSS or Tanknology.
Cheers,
Garrett Backus
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
1868 E Hazelton Ave,Stockton,CA 95205
Phone: (209)468-2986
Fax: (209)468-3433
Email: gbackus@sicehd.com
From: Marty Weithman [mailto:martyw@servicestationsystems.com]
Sent: Monday, February 04, 2013 6:33 AM
To: Garrett Backus [EH]
Subject: Chevron, 6633 Pacific Ave, Stockton; LD issue
Hi Garrett,
I know you are aware of an LD issue at the above listed site. On Saturday 2/2. SSS Tech Kris Bell was on site. The
following are his tech notes:
2/2/13 KSB: Arrived on site tanknology was still on site. Told me he replaced the syphon jet and pumped 120 gallons from
the furthest dispenser. I tested Id and it didn't pass and found a large amount of resielency. Ran pump test on all disp and
pumped roughtly 80 gallons from each dispenser. Test didn't pass got in touch with Ron Sloan and he sugested to change
out the syphon jet again so i that and made sure syphon line was clear and purged again. Got it to pass 1 time and not a
second time and got high resielency again. Talked to chris and mentioned should change turbin gaskets. Replaced
turbine gaskets and purged another 120 gallons and tested the premium Id and it passed. Re-set Id and tested it 4 more
time and they all passed.
From this information, it would seem all is now working properly and that the repair involved turbine gaskets and not a the
LD. Do you want a permit for this work?
Marty Weithman
Permit Compliance Officer
Service Station Systems Inc./Able Maintenance Inc.
680 Quinn Avenue
San Jose, CA 95112
(408)213-6038 (direct)
1
