The following response procedures should not be considered inflexible. Every accident presents a
unique event that must be dealt with by trained personnel working in a calm, controlled manner. In
the event of an accident / unusual event, the prime consideration is to provide the appropriate initial
response to assist those in jeopardy without placing additional personnel at unnecessary risk.
If a person working in a contaminated area is physically injured, American Red Cross first aid
procedures will be followed. Depending on the severity of the injury, emergency medical response
may be sought. If the person can be moved, they will be taken to the edge of the Exclusion Zone
(on a stretcher, if needed) where contaminated clothing will be removed (if possible), emergency
first aid administered and transportation to a local emergency medical facility awaited.
ACCIDENT / INJURY IN NON -CONTAMINATED AREA
For accident / injury in a non -contaminated hazardous area, the procedures above should be
followed with the exception that the injured individual should not be moved and the removal of
contaminated clothing would not be necessary.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE
Agency/Facility Phone #
Police 911
Fire 911
Ambulance 911
United Pacific Environmental (562) 981-3346
San Joaquin Environmental Health (209) 468-3468
NON -EMERGENCY
Stockton Police Department
Stockton Fire Department
Cal.
