by the generator and within 30 days of each <br />shipment of hazardous waste, a legible copy <br />of each manifest shall be submitted to the <br />Department. <br />For shipments of hazardous waste within the <br />United States solely by water or by rail, refer <br />to Title 22, CCR, section 66262.23 (c) & (d), <br />for additional requirements. The generator is <br />required to retain a copy of each signed, <br />completed manifest, for at least three years <br />from the date the waste was accepted by the <br />initial transporter. <br />CONTINGENCY PLAN <br />Generators are responsible to implement a <br />contingency plan to identify the actions facility <br />personnel will take in the event of a fire, <br />explosion, or any unplanned sudden or non - <br />sudden release of hazardous waste to the air, <br />soil, or surface water at the facility. <br />If the generator has an existing emergency or <br />contingency plan, the owner may choose to <br />amend the plan to include the hazardous <br />waste management provisions that comply <br />with the requirements stated in Title 22, CCR, <br />section 66264.52. <br />PERSONNEL TRAINING <br />Facility personnel involved in the management <br />of hazardous waste are required to be <br />adequately trained by successfully completing <br />a program of classroom instruction or on-the- <br />job training that is relevant to the position. <br />The facility personnel shall take part in an <br />annual review of the initial training given to the <br />employee.
