After an
alarm has been activated,
the system can be used to:
1. Confirm a condition -
frequently eliminating
the need for expensive
testing services or
costly excavation work.
2. Identify the location
of a problem and
establish a site
condition profile.
3. Track the migration of
leaking materials.
4. Confirm the dissipation
of one-time releases.
5. Verify the effective-
ness of clean up, or
repair work, or the
integrity of a new
equipment installation.
6. Continue to monitor
sites where contamin-
ation makes other types
of systems ineffective.
7. Provide documentation
of all monitoring
activities.
Soil Sentry is equally
effective in monitoring sites
with single wall tanks,
double, wall tanks, or low
water tables, and can be of
exceptional value in areas
with high water tables where
It can identify leaks
before observable amounts
of products collect on the
surface.
SYSTEM DESIGN
The complete system
consists of:
1. The function module
containing an aspitator
pump, a bulk semicon-
ductor vapor sensor,
system microprocessor,
and printer.
2. Up to 12 probes
(sections of slotted
PVC pipe inserted
into the ground at the
desired sampling points)
3. Small diameter transport
lines to link each probe
to the function module.
SYSTEM OPERATION
The system features three
operating modes:
1. NORMAL AUTOMATIC OPER-
ATION: Three times
each day the system
sequentially extracts
air samples from each
active probe location.
If a vapor level above
the adjustable alarm
trigger point is
identified in three
successive samplings
or, if a dangerously
high vapor level is
identified at any time,
The system's alarms
will be activated and
a printed record will
be made identifying
the time, location of
the problem, and the
vapor level in parts
per million. If any
system problem occurs,
the alarms will also
be activated, and the
cause will be noted
on the printed record.
2. PRINT AND RUN: The
system performs all
normal automatic oper-
ations and prints the
vapor level observed at
each probe when each
scheduled sample is
taken. Useful for
establishing site
profiles and tracking
the movement of any
leaking materials.
3. MANUAL OPERATION:
Permits the operator
to select a probe,
take a vapor level
reading at that loc-
ation, and obtain a
printed record on
demand.
FOR# SPECIFICATIONS
SEE OTHER SIDE
GENELCO INC. 11649 CHAIRMAN DRIVE, #16, DALLAS, TX., 75243 • PHONE 214/3418410
