SITITJ Ste Health and Safety Plan
nnnnn Service Station # 000
S J WEAVER
CONTRACTING zzZZZ XXXXX, CA ccccc
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this Site Health and Safety Plan (HASP) is to define the requirements and designate
protocols to be followed during construction activities at ARCO Service Station # 000 located @
zzzzz, xxxxx, California. Applicability extends to all S.J. Weaver Contracting Inc. employees,
subcontractors, ARCO employees and visitors.
All personnel on site shall be informed of the site emergency procedures and any potential fire,
explosion, health, or safety hazards of the operation. This plan must be reviewed, and acknowledged,
by all personnel prior to entering the work zone.
During development of this plan consideration was given to current safety standards as defined by
EPA/OSHA/NIOSH, health effects and standards for known contaminants, and procedures designed
to account for the potential for exposure to unknown substances. Specifically, the following reference
sources have been consulted:
• OSHA Regulations: 29 CFR 1910 and 1926
• California Code of Regulations, Title 8, Cal/OSHA Standards governing workplace safety.
• 4USEPA Standard Operating Safety Guides, June 1992
• NIOSH/OSHA/USCG/EPA "Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous
Waste Site Activities"
• NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards, June 1994
In addition, to the above referenced documents, S.J. Weaver Contracting Inc. has established a
comprehensive and realistic Health and Safety Program, based on past experience, sound
engineering practice, employee training and enforcement of health and safety regulations to prevent
unreasonable health and safety risks.
The existing S.J. Weaver Contracting Inc. Health and Safety Program will complement this Health and
Safety Plan. This plan will be a living document in that it will be continually updated or revised as the
site conditions and knowledge of the operations develops further.
In the event that a person does not adhere to the provisions of the HASP, he / she will be requested
to leave the work area. All nonconformance incidents will be recorded in the site log.
The development and preparation of this Health and Safety Plan has been based on past experience
and site specific information at the time of preparation. If actual site conditions or operations vary from
the data used to prepare this Health and Safety Plan, amendments shall be made to reflect those
changes.
S.J.
