Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Re: Quik Stop Market # 152
1721 South Cherokee Lane, Lodi
Dear Mr. Yoshioka:
As requested in your 1/8/96 letter, I have enclosed a copy of the 1995 Monitoring
System Certification.
The mechanical leak detectors were not tested in 1995. The interstitial space of the
double wall product lines are monitored continuously be electronic probes which are
connected to relays that automatically shut off power to the turbines if a leak is
sensed. Therefore, the mechanical leak detectors are redundant and are not required
to be tested annually. Although the mechanical leak detectors remain, they are no
longer an 'official" part of the monitoring scheme.
If you have any questions, please call.
Sincerely,
'Al/
Mike Karvelot
Director of Environmental Affairs
Enclosures
