The sensor is supplied with electrical
connectors, 25 feet of cable, and a cord -grip fitting (see diagrams). The
TSP-ULS uses magnetic-float/reed-switch technology (the sensor must bm
suspended vertically so the float can rise freely with the level of a liquid),
When the float rises more than 3/4 of an inch, the magnetically- F
sensitive reed switch will open (see internal float in Figure A). An open
circuit is recognized as an alarm -condition at the intrinsically safe (I.S) leek
detection circuits of the FFS (Franklin Fueling Systems) ATG console.
Testing this device is a matter of rotating the sensor 180 degrees with
the bottom up, to cause an alarm at the ATG console. Test the sensor for
proper operation on a yearly basis, or more frequently per local code.
Materials Renuired
COLORED
MARKING
PEN/TAPE \,
INSTALL HEIGHT =
MEASURED HEIGHT
+1.5 INCH (38.1 mm)
ALLOWANCE FOR
TSP-KI2 HEIGHT
-1.44-
(36.6 mm)
WHT)
(BL
FOR INSTALLATION
000-1346 Rev.0
Copyright @ 1994,
1996,2004
tech@franklinfueling.com
1.800.984.6266
IN DOUBLE -WALLED
STEEL TANKS: THE
SENSOR INPUT'
INSTALL HEIGHT
IS MEASURED FROM
TOP OF RISER
(CHANNEL N):
TO BOTTOM OF
INTERSTITIAL SPACE
IN TANK
REED FLOAT SWITCH
TYPICAL
SENSOR INPUT'
INTERFACE
(CHANNEL N):
(WHT
IN
CNC
(BLK) GND
MAGNETIC
REED FLOAT SWITCH
OPENS WHEN FLOAT
MOVES UP 0.75 INCH
(19 mm)
RETAINING RING
Figure A.
