The objective of the geotechnical investigation was to assess the
underlying soil conditions and make geotechnical recommendations for design and construction of
the proposed development.
The results of this investigation indicate that, from a geotechnical viewpoint, the site is suitable for
the proposed development provided that the recommendations presented in the report are
incorporated into the design and construction of the facility. Information from the site review and
field exploration indicate that most of the site is covered with one to two feet of asphalt and gravel.
In order to provide uniform support for the proposed facilities, we recommend that the asphalt and
gravel, along with native soil within the top two feet below rough grade, be removed and replaced
as compacted fill.
A "Geotechnical/Construction Inspection Schedule" check list of various grading tasks and
milestones requiring geotechnical engineering inspection and reporting is included as Appendix D.
This checklist must be completed and signed by the contractor and presented with the necessary
grading report submittals to the ARCO Project Engineer and SECOR at the end of the job.
The findings of the investigation and recommendations for site development are presented in the
attached report and are summarized on the following summary page.
IN 40007.095-01
ftWsw\97-06junAeUcygeo.doc
_IiSo 1-1 ( (..I <1_' i I /5/i MOM) ;.;i-01 /0 0)09) J;i 012t) F I\ IIYt'It"SCO ul'.<' MI
