F0*d -ibioi
E h
June 10,2003
Ms. Kasey L.Foley
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
304 East Weber Avenue,3rd floor
Stockton,CA 95202
RE: Fueling Facility Operation and Future Remediation
7-Eleven Store No.32262
2360 West Grantline
Tracy,California
Dear Ms. Foley:
7-Eleven Incorporated (7-Eleven) has prepared this letter to supply additional information required by San
Joaquin County, Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) for the final approval of the underground storage
tank installation permit package for the subject site.
Based on soil and groundwater analytical results from samples collected during the fuel line upgrade work in May
2003,the soil and groundwater at the site have been impacted with gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons and
oxygenates. Based on the groundwater data, some form of remediation will likely be required to remove or
accelerate the insltu destruction of gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons dissolved in groundwater. Remedial
technologies currently exist that will allow remediation of the soil and groundwater at the site to be conducted in
conjunction with operation of the retail gasoline sales facilities at the site. Traditional remedial options include soil
vapor extraction, groundwater extraction, dual phase extraction, air sparging, oxygen sparging, and ozone
sparging. If needed, the specific remedial approach used at the site will be determined following assessment of
the lateral and vertical limits of the gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons. dissolved in groundwater and
adsorbed to soli at the site.
If you need additional information for the UST installation permit package or have other questions, please feel free
to call me at(253)7W7170.
Sincerely:
Randy Martin
7-Eleven Environmental Manager
cc: Mr.John Wainwright,SECOR
7-Eleven Scores
Cascade East At CencerPoinc
20819 72"1 Avenue South/Suite 800/Kent,WA 98032
Phonc(253)796-7111 / 1-800-772-3711 1 Pax (253) 796.7120
Z0/Z0'd 0?-TL 96L 2SZ 90Idd0 dN00 TT—L TS:2T 2002—TT—Nnf
