Box 388 • Stockton, CA 95 C-0 <br />209/468-3420 <br />CALIFORNIA WATER SERVICE NOV 2 8 1996 <br />1720 N FIRST ST <br />SAN JOSE CA 95112 <br />RE: CALIFORNIA WATER SERVICE <br />1602 E LAFAYETTE ST <br />STOCKTON CA 95205 <br />San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has recently reviewed the <br />analytical results of the soil and/or water samples taken from beneath the underground storage tank # 39-1153-02 <br />that was removed from this site on June 24, 1988 and the underground storage tank #39-1153-01 that was removed <br />from this site on January 4, 1990. <br />This letter confirms the completion of the tank removal investigation for the underground storage tanks <br />at the above site. With the provision that the information provided to this agency was accurate and representative <br />of existing conditions, it is our position that no further action is required at this time. <br />Please be advised that this letter does not relieve you of any liability under the California Health and Safety Code <br />or Water Code for past, present, or future operations at the site. Nor does it relieve you of the responsibility to clean <br />up existing, additional, or previously unidentified conditions at the site which cause or threaten to cause pollution <br />or nuisance or otherwise pose a threat to water quality or public health. <br />Additionally, be advised that changes in the present or proposed use of the site may require further site <br />characterization and mitigation activity.
