SECOR
International Incorporated
September 19, 2001
Project 077.43572.110
Ms. Margaret Lagorio
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
304 East Weber Street, 3`d Floor
Stockton, California 95202
Re: Work Plan for Site Assessment
Chevron Service Station#20-0794
4747 North West Lane
Stockton, California
Dear Ms. Lagorio:
SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR), on behalf of Chevron Products Company
(Chevron), presents this work plan for site assessment activities consisting of the
drilling and installation of three groundwater monitoring wells and the possible
advancement of seven cone penetrometer test(CPT)borings along the southern property
boundary. The purpose of this assessment is to determine if methyl tertiary butyl ether
(MtBE) is a potential threat to a municipal supply well located to the south of the site
(Figure 1).
This work plan includes a brief discussion of site background, summary of previous
investigations, and proposed scope of work.
SITE BACKGROUND
The site is an operating Chevron service station located in a commercial area of
Stockton, California. The current station facilities include two dispenser islands and a
mini-mart under a common canopy, three gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs),
and a carwash. Figure 2 shows the current station facilities.
Information on any previous investigations was not available.
PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work for this site assessment will include the drilling and installation of
three groundwater monitoring wells at the general locations shown on Figure 2. Based
on the results of the soil and groundwater chemical analyses, the CPT borings may be
completed to assess soil stratigraphy and to collect soil and groundwater samples for
chemical analysis.
3017 Kilgore Road, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916.861.0400 916.861.0430 Fax www.secor.com
