IAM Operable Unit
San Joaquin County - 3 - 19 December 2011
L&M Group's opinion that the collected data is sufficient to determine the next steps in
the continuing remediation of soil and groundwater at WOTOA.
L&M Group's finding that it is feasible to extract and treat groundwater and soil vapor
utilizing the existing DPE system. Modifications to the DPE system will be necessary to
accommodate additional flows and constituents.
• Sufficient data has been collected to merit a decrease in frequency of groundwater
monitoring well sampling. A draft revised MRP will be issued in January 2012.
L&M Group's finding that gasoline and BTEX have steadily decreased and a rebound
test is warranted.
By 28 February 2012, please submit a groundwater cleanup work plan for the WOTOA
parking lot area. The work plan should also address further study of the Unocal site
groundwater collection trenches so that recommendations can be made regarding the
expansion and modification of the existing treatment system.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding this letter at 916.464.4682 or
rcervantes(a)waterboards.ca.gov.
Roberto Cervantes, PE
Site Cleanup Program
cc: Mr. Eric Hetrick, ConocoPhillips
Mr. Rick Rittenberg, Chevron CEMC
Mr. Robert Goodman, Rogers Joseph O'Donnell
Ms. Katherine Walker, City of Stockton
•
