PREVIOUS SITE ASSESSMENTS <br /> Except for samples collected during the UST removal in September 1989 no additional assessment <br /> activities were performed at the site until 27 May and 02 June 2003. At this time AGE advanced two <br /> soil probe borings to 25 feet and contamination was encountered at 14 and 24 feet in boring B-1 <br /> (piping area). <br /> 3.0. SCOPE OF WORK <br /> AGE proposes to collect additional soil samples to determine ifpetroleum hydrocarbon and/or lead- <br /> impacted soil and/or ground water is present in the piping area. The additional site assessment will <br /> include the following tasks: <br /> • Pre-field work activities; <br /> • Soil sample collection and analysis; <br /> • Ground water sample collection and analysis; <br /> • Report preparation <br /> The site assessment tasks are discussed below. <br /> 3.1. PRE-FIELD WORK TASKS <br /> The site health and safety plan for this site, dated 27 May 2003, will be reviewed and amended if <br /> required will be prepared in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for <br /> Hazardous Waste Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health <br /> Administration, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1985). Prior to <br /> mobilization,the area of excavation will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through <br /> Underground Service Alert. <br /> 3.2. SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS <br /> AGE proposes to advance a probe boring using direct push technology in the area of the former <br /> piping to assess for petroleum hydrocarbon-and/or lead-impacted soil beneath the site.The boring <br /> will be advanced to a depth of 50 feet below surface grade (bsg) or until first contact with ground <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
