Mr. Michael Infurna 13EDMATRIX
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
3 June 1996
Page 2
Soil samples will be retained for laboratory analysis from a depth of 4 feet, 10 feet, and 15 feet bgs.
Soil samples will be analyzed for hydrocarbon fingerprint characterization by gas chromatography. If
petroleum hydrocarbons are present and attributable to the crude oil or Bunker C oil carried in the
former pipeline, the samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as crude oil
using a modified version of EPA Method 8015, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes by EPA
Method 8020, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) by EPA Method 8310. The need for
additional assessment or a recommendation for site closure will be made based on the results of the soil
boring.
CPL has submitted the required fees and the "pink and green" forms for oversight of this project by the
San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division.
