(WFS) facility in Vernalis, California (Figure 1).
GeoSyntec Consultants, Inc. (GeoSyntec) prepared this Work Plan on behalf of WFS,
per our 14 April 2003 schedule for soil cleanups.
INTRODUCTION
By letter dated 5 March 2003, the Regional Water Quality Control Board— Central
Valley Region (RWQCB) issued a draft Monitoring and Reporting (MRP) for the WFS
Vernalis site. Included with the draft MRP was a site status memorandum, in which the
RWQCB requested the development of a cleanup plan for the fertilizer constituents
(mainly nitrate and ammonia) in soil in the vicinity of the former tank farm, which was
south of the current tank farm (Figure 2). The Work Plan presented below summarizes
the soil data collected to date in the vicinity of the former tank farm, and proposes a
plan to mitigate the fertilizer constituents in the soil in the vicinity of the former tank
farm.
t GeoSyntec Consultants, 2003.
