Organochlorinated pesticides were not detected at concentrations above
laboratory reporting limits in this sample with the exception of 4,4'-DDE, 4,4'-DDD,
4,4'-DDT, and chlordane which were detected at low concentrations (well below
established regulatory agency screening levels).
The surface soil sample collected from the location S17 was analyzed for TPH as
gasoline, TPH as motor oil, and TPH as diesel. Only TPH as motor oil was detected
within this sample at a concentration of 400 mg/kg.
Area D
Surface soil samples collected at locations S18 through S23, and S36 through S41, as
well as the one foot deep soil samples collected from locations S18, S19, and S22 were
laboratory tested for lead and arsenic. Concentrations of lead identified in the soil
samples collected from these locations ranged from 4.3 mg/kg to 110 mg/kg. Arsenic
concentrations identified in these samples ranged from less than 2.0 mg/kg to 16 mg/kg,
except for the surface sample collected at location S 18,which contained 1,700 mg/kg.
The surface soil samples collected at S18 through S20, and S22 and S23 were laboratory
combined into three-part and two-part composite samples, respectively, and analyzed for
organochlorinated pesticides. Surface soil samples from locations S36, S40, and S41 and
S32 through S35, and soil collected at a depth of one foot at locations S18 and S19 also
were analyzed for organochlorinated pesticides. In general, concentrations of
organochlorinated pesticides were not detected in any of the surface soil samples at
concentrations above laboratory reporting limits with the exception of 4,4'-DDE, 4,4'-
DDD, 4,4'-DDT, and chlordane which were detected in the composite samples at low
concentrations and well below established regulatory agency screening levels.
Laboratory analysis of the one foot soil samples collected at locations S18 and S19 did
not reveal any organochlorinated pesticides at concentrations above laboratory reporting
limits.
The three-part and two-part composite samples of surface soils from the locations S18
through S23 and the surface soil sample from location S21 were analyzed for one or more
of the following: TPH as gasoline, TPH as motor oil, and TPH as diesel, and BTEX.
Only TPH as motor oil was detected within these samples at concentrations above
laboratory reporting limits. TPH as motor oil was reported at concentrations of 140
mg/kg for the three part composite sample (from locations S 18 through S20).
ENVIRONMENTAL SCREENING EVALUATION
GENERAL
The Federal Environmental Protection Agency has established Preliminary Remediation
Goals (EPA-PRGs) of chemicals commonly found in soil and groundwater at
contaminated sites.
