Be sure to recycle the metal chips and and keep the scrap metal <br /> recycling receipts. <br /> You mention in the corrective action statement that FMR told you that the metal chips are "non-hazardous". The <br /> material certification and other information provided by you during the inspection indicate that the metal scrap is 10- <br /> 20%chromium which makes it hazardous waste when disposed of as waste. Having a scrap metal hauler pick it up and <br /> send it to a recycler is acceptable handling of this type of waste. <br /> I called FMR and was assured that the metal chips are "repackaged" and sold to a metal recycler such as Sims Metal. <br /> The violation is resolved.
