Glossary and Acronyms Version :27.10.4 <br /> Navigable Waters: As defined in section 502(7) of the FWPCA. The term includes: <br /> All navigable waters of the United States, as defined in judicial decisions prior to the passage of the <br /> 1972 Amendments of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, (FWPCA) (Pub. L. 92-500) also <br /> known as the Clean Water Act(CWA), and tributaries of such waters; <br /> Interstate waters; <br /> Intrastate lakes, rivers, and streams which are utilized by interstate travelers for recreational or other <br /> purposes; <br /> Intrastate lakes, rivers, and streams from which fish or shellfish are taken and sold in interstate <br /> commerce. <br /> Nearshore Area: For OPA 90, the area extending seaward 12 miles from the boundary lines <br /> defined in 46 CFR Part 7, except in the Gulf of Mexico. In the Gulf of Mexico, it means the area <br /> extending seaward 12 miles from the line of demarcation defined in §80.740 - 80.850 of title 33 of <br /> the CFR. <br /> Non-persistent or Group I Oil: A petroleum-based oil that, at the time of shipment, consists of <br /> hydrocarbon fractions: <br /> 1. At least 50% of which by volume, distill at a temperature of 340 degrees C (645 degrees F); <br /> 2. At least 95% of which volume, distill at a temperature of 370 degrees C (700 degrees F). <br /> Ocean: The open ocean, offshore area, and nearshore area as defined in this subpart. <br /> Offshore area: The area up to 38 nautical miles seaward of the outer boundary of the nearshore <br /> area. <br /> Oil or Oils: Oil of any kind or in any form, including, but not limited to: fats, oils, or greases of <br /> animal, fish, or marine mammal origin; vegetable oils, including oils from seeds, nuts, fruits, or <br /> kernels; and, other oils and greases, including petroleum, fuel oil, sludge, synthetic oils, mineral oils, <br /> oil refuse, or oil mixed with wastes other than dredged spoil. <br /> Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund: Means the fund established under section 9509 of the Internal <br /> Revenue Code of 1986 (26 U.S.C. 9509). <br /> Oily Waste: Product contaminated waste resulting from a spill or spill response operations. <br /> Shell Supply and Distribution CLOS-ACRO-9 Stockton Terminal FRP <br /> ©2019 Witt 0' Brien's Revision Date:October, 2019 <br />
