Mike Infurna
To: PierceM@rb5s.swrcb.ca.gov
Subject: Army Air and Support Fac, Stockton
hello.
left you a voice message with hopes you're still the contact for these sites...
First, did you get Versar's"Work Plan for Preliminary Assessment/Site Investigation Update", dated August 21, 2002?
If you did, the following refers to the scope of work included.
If NOT, bear with me and see if this concerns the Board......
Best I can figure is, Versar is planning to do some sort of subsurface investigation at 3 of 4 of these sites (OMS, AAFS,
CSMS)with 7 direct push borings, "B-28 thru B-34". Only the"Armory"seems to be excluded from this phase. Three of
the borings appear to be at my UST site at"OMS-24, 8020 Airport Way" (B-30- B-32). I can handle those...But the others
appear to be at non-UST areas mostly, such as washracks (B-29), at"HAZ MAT Sheds" (B-33 and B-34), and another, B-
28, at the ABOVE ground storage tank area to investigate and overfill accident back on April 18, 2002. These would be
under your jusidiction, right?
Just for your info, I received yet ANOTHER work plan for the AASF facility under separate cover that addresses some
obvious hydrocarbon soil impact at the concrete UST'hold-down'slab's SE corner during the UST removals in May 1998
under my oversight. I don't think you'll be involved with them unless you (the Board) plan on taking lead agency status
over the whole complex, including the two UST sites ....(and that IS an option for you, but you gotta want it first....)
If any of this relates to you, let me know your position....if not, please forward it to the staff person that can help me...
1
