Regional Water Board
staff comments on the Final Work Plan were issued on 27 July 2007. Except for General
Comment 2, our comments have been adequately addressed and CA ARNG should proceed
with implementation of the Revised Final Work Plan.
In General Comment 2 Regional Water Board staff recommended installation of a new
monitoring well north (down gradient) of the former 5,000-gallon underground storage tanks
(USTs) and associated fuel dispensers. Installation and sampling of this monitoring well will
likely be required before we can consider a no further action request for the Army Aviation and
Support Facility UST site. If the groundwater sampling proposed in the Revised Final Work
Plan provides evidence that the former 5,000-gallon USTs have impacted groundwater, CA
ARNG should provide a recommendation in the investigation report to install this well.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (916) 464-4733
(mpierceCcDwaterboards.ca.gov).
l
Marcus L.
