These Rules and Regulations alter the renewal schedule for business licenses issued prior to July 1, 2005. These changes were enacted to expedite the renewal process for businesses by distributing the expiration and renewal dates of business licenses throughout the year, eliminating the delays encountered when all licenses expired on December 31St of each year. Your business license is issued under a classification that has a new annual expiration date of March 31st. Your 2005 license expires on December 31, 2005 and your 2006- 2007 renewal will be issued for the period January 1 , 2006 through March 31, 2007. The renewal tax and registration fee for your conversion period license will be due on April 1, 2006 and delinquent if not paid by April 30, 2006. Taxes will be based on your 2005 gross receipts and will be prorated for the 15 month license period. This letter will serve as your interim business license from January 1, 2006 through "March 31, 2006. Your business license certificate for the conversion period will be issued upon receipt of your renewal application and payment of taxes and fees owed. A renewal notice with tax calculation instructions will be mailed to you by March 15, 2006, taxes will be considered delinquent if not received by April 30, 2006.
