Limited Subsurface Investigation Work Plan <br /> ARROYO'S SMOG SHOP <br /> 3012 East Waterloo Road, Stockton, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr.Abelardo Arroyo,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE)has prepared this <br /> Limited Subsurface Investigation Work Plan for the property at 3012 East Waterloo Road,Stockton, <br /> California(the site). The work is being performed as part of a due diligence for a property transfer. <br /> The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2. <br /> This work plan was prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department(EHD)for the procurement of a soil boring permit,and is in accordance with Appendix <br /> A to Tri-Regional Recommendations - Reporting, dated 30 August 1991, prepared by the Central <br /> Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board for the investigation of underground storage tank <br /> (UST) sites. <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> The subject property,located at 3012 East Waterloo Road in an unincorporated portion San Joaquin <br /> County, California, is situated in an area of mixed commercial/residential and light industrial use. <br /> Historical site usage research performed by AGE has indicated that the property was utilized as a <br /> gasoline service station for approximately 40 years. <br /> 2.1. PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS <br /> According to records on file with the SJCEHD, four underground storage tanks (USTs) were <br /> formerly located on the property. Three of the USTs were located in a common excavation,west of <br /> the on-site building; a fourth USTs, presumably used for waste oil, was located south(behind) the <br /> on-site building. <br /> In 1998,the four USTs were removed by Paydirt Excavation.The USTs had been out of commission <br /> and empty at the time of removal. Soil samples were collected from the UST excavation, former <br /> piping areas and dispenser island area. Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in soil samples <br /> collected at the time of removal. <br /> 2.2. REGIONAL GEOLOGIC/HYDROGEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> The site is situated within the southern portion of the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of <br /> California, a large, elongate, northwest trending, asymmetric structural trough; the northern and <br /> southern portions of the Province have been designated the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys, <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. <br />
