By letter dated November 7,
2008, you were directed to have the consultant characterize and evaluate site data and provide
conclusions as to whether the source of the groundwater contamination on your property is the
unauthorized release of petroleum from the underground storage tanks system formerly
operated at your site or the unauthorized release of petroleum from the underground storage
tank system located at 3032 Waterloo Road, Stockton. The water samples collected from
monitoring wells MW1, MW2, and MW3 were found to have significant concentrations of methyl-
tert-butyl-ether(MTBE) and total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline(TPH-g) detected in them.
Even higher concentrations of MTBE and TPH-g have been detected in the water samples from
MW-11 and MW-12 that were installed up-gradient on the northeast corner of your property as
part of the investigation to define the extent of the contaminant plume emanating from the site at
3032 Waterloo Road, Stockton. You are now directed:
1) Recommence semi-annual monitoring by January 1, 2013; and
2 Characterize and evaluate the site data and provide conclusions as to whether the
source of the groundwater contamination on your property is from the unauthorized
release of petroleum from the underground storage tanks formerly operated at your site
or the unauthorized release of petroleum from the underground storage tanks operated
at 3032 Waterloo Road, Stockton.
