l , y
1
10 October 2005
AGE-NC Project No 04-1168
34 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' TPH-g was detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-1 through MW-3 at
' concentrations of 540 micrograms per liter(µg11), 330 µg/l and 220 µg/1, respectively(Figure 4)
The BTEX compounds toluene and xylenes were detected in ground water samples MW-1 through
' MW-3 at maximum concentrations of 8 9 µg/1 and 29 µg/1, respectively, from sample MW-1,
ethylbenzene was detected only in sample MW-1 at a concentration 2 1 µg/1 Benzene was not
detected
' The fuel additive MTBE was detected in all ground water samples at concentrations between
150 µg/1 (MW-2) and 330 µg/1 (MW-1), in addition, 1,2-DCA was detected in one ground water
' sample (MW-2) at a concentration of 2 9 µg/1 A Map of MTBE concentrations is presented as
Figure 5
' No other constituents of concern were detected at or above laboratory detection limits in the ground
water samples analyzed The analytical results of the ground water samples collected on 05 August
2005 are summarized on Table 3 The laboratory report (CTEL Project No CT214-0508043),
' QA/QC report, and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix G
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes
• The subsurface soil consists predominantly of fine-grained, clayey and sandy silts and silty
' clays, coarser, silty sand was detected only in borings MW1 and MW2 at 70 feet bsg
Laboratory analysis of ten soil samples submitted for analysis detected TPH-g and BTEX
(total xylenes only) at very low concentrations in four of the ten samples
' • At the time of the August 2005 quarterly monitoring event, the ground water flow was
inferred to be southeast under an average hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 001 ft/ft
' • Analytical results of ground water samples MW-1 through MW-3 collected on 05 August
2005 detected TPH-g, toluene and xylenes in all samples at maximum concentration of
500 µg/1, 8 9 µg/l and 29 µg/1, respectively, in the sample from the down-gradient well
' MW-1 In addition, ethylbenzene was detected in one sample(MW-1) at a concentration of
2 1 µg/1
' • The fuel additive MTBE was detected in all ground water samples at a maximum
concentration of 330 µg/l (MW-1) In addition, 1,2-DCA was detected in the ground water
sample from well MW-2 at a concentration of 2 9 µg/1
Advanced GeoEutizronmcntai,Inc
