An error was
made in the mass balance provided in the above refer nced report and the corrected
calculations are provided herein.
Soil Vapor Intrusion Potential
Although there is a significant remaining conte tration and mass of TPH-D remaining in
soil at the site, this mass is not expected to pose a vap r intrusion risk due to the concrete slab
floors that were encountered at two different depths du ing subsurface investigation work at the
site. These two concrete floors provide caps that effec ively restrict upward migration of soil
vapors from the remaining impacted soil at the site. In addition, the anticipated use of the shop
area for diesel engine repair work is expected to generate vapor of diesel range hydrocarbons
and related constituents in excess of anything that could be expected to be present as a result
of soil vapors from the remaining mass in the subsurface at the site. Therefore, vapor intrusion
does not appear to be an unacceptable risk factor in dE termining a no further action status for
this site.
Taber Consultants
Engineers and Geologists
