n
It is clearly impossible to draw further concl cions without additional data.
Therefore, Environeering, Inc. recommends additional investigation to determine
the extent of contamination below and aroun J this UST, to provide a basis for
remediation recommendations. Should the si 1gle sample prove to be an anomaly,
cleanup may not be required. Should the con amination be confined by an
impervious soil layer, chemical and/or enhan ed biological cleanup may be
appropriate. A sampling program should be C eveloped to define the extent of
contamination.
5.2 Underground Storage Tanks
All samples from under the USTs, and from t1he excavated soil stockpile, were
free of petroleum hydrocarbons, indicating that these tanks did not leak. Metals
levels appear to be normal. Therefore, Envir veering, Inc. recommends that the
Environmental Health Department be request cd to issue a"no further action
required letter" with respect to these two tanks, and the asphalt be restored over
the filled excavation.
i
6.ORemarks and Signatures
This Report of Investigation represents Environeerin , Inc.'s professional judgment and
opinions.
