REPORT OF INV 1 STIGATION <br /> Of the Extent of Contamination Under a Used Oil UST <br /> Closed in Place in April 1988 <br /> 1.0 Introduction <br /> This report presents the results of investigations conducted in accordance with a Work <br /> Plan dated September 10, 2007. <br /> An underground used oil tank was closed in place by R & L Diesel Services (R& L) in <br /> April, 1988, by filling with concrete. The work was approved and witnessed by the San <br /> Joaquin Local Health District(SJLHD). Soil samples were not taken from under the tank <br /> at that time. However, a single sample taken from under the UST on February 26, 2007, <br /> showed contamination from diesel and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This was <br /> reported in a Report of Investigation dated June 8,I 2007. This report describes the work <br /> conducted to secure additional soil samples, adjacent to and under the UST, and presents <br /> analytical results and recommendations for additidnal investigation to further define the <br /> extent of contamination. <br /> 2.0 Site Description <br /> R& L Diesel Services is located at 2417 West L e in the city of Stockton, San Joaquin <br /> County, California. The property is bounded by Vest Lane to the cast, Klinger Road to <br /> the south commercialoAerh'r to the north and a Union Pacific rail line to the west. The <br /> P <br /> property is paved and includes a number of wooden frame, concrete block and metal <br /> buildings, housing maintenance, parts storage and office facilities. R& L purchased the <br /> property in 1958, and established their diesel repair business. <br /> 3.0 Scope of Work <br /> The UST is 4 ft. diameter by 6 ft. 6 in. high, and i installed under two concrete floors, <br /> 1 <br /> t <br />
