I <br /> I <br /> WORK P AN <br /> Investigate the Extent of Contamination Adjacent to an <br /> Underground Waste Oil Tank Cl sed in Place in April 1988 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION ! <br /> R& L Diesel Services (R& L) operates a diesel re air and parts business at a site located <br /> i <br /> at 2417 West Lane in Stockton, CA. In April; 1198 ,-R&L"'closod"ai'iZuffderground waste i <br /> oil tank in place by filling with concrete. In January, 2005, R& L contracted <br /> Environeering, Inc. (EI) to assist in securing a closure letter for this UST. This resulted in <br /> the following: <br /> • A Work Plan to check for contaminants adjacent to the UST, and to check for the <br /> presence of two additional USTs on site, was completed on January 28, 2005. <br /> • A Work Plan Addendum to secure a sample from under the UST, and to check for <br /> the presence of two additional USTs on site, was completed on October 16, 2006. <br /> • A Report of Investigation was completed o ri June 8, 2007, covering the securing <br /> of soil samples from under the UST, on February 26, 2007, and the removal of <br /> two other USTs from the site and securing samples from under these tanks, on <br /> April 18, 2007. <br /> • The sample from under the closed in place UST evidenced contamination from <br /> diesel and VOCs, necessitating further investigation to determine the lateral and <br /> vertical extent of the contamination. Analytical results are listed in Table 1. <br /> 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> R&L Diesel Services is located at 2417 West Lane in the city of Stockton, San Joaquin <br /> County, California. The property is bounded by West Lane to the east, Klinger Road to <br /> the south, commercial property to the north, and a Union Pacific rail-line to the west.
