Categories of Hazardous Waste <br /> 22 CCR Appendix II <br /> Appendix II <br /> Waste Extraction Test (WET) Procedures <br /> (a) The Waste Extraction Test (WET) described in this appendix shall be used to determine the amount of extractable substance in a <br /> waste or other material as set forth in section 66261.24(a)(2). <br /> (b) Except as provided in subdivision (d) of this appendix, the WET shall be carried out if the total concentration in the waste, or other <br /> material, of any substance listed in section 66261.24(a)(2) equals or exceeds the STLC value, but does not exceed the TTLC value, <br /> given for that substance. The total concentrations of substances listed in section 66261.24(a)(2) shall be determined by analysis of <br /> samples of wastes, or other materials, which have been prepared, or meet the conditions, for analysis as set forth in subdivisions (c) <br /> and (d) of this appendix. Methods used for analysis for total concentrations of substances listed in section 66261.24(a)(2) shall be <br /> those given in the following documents or alternate methods that have been approved by the Department pursuant to section <br /> 66260.21: <br /> (1) for metal elements and their compounds, the waste shall be digested according to the indicated methods described in "Test <br /> Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste, Physical/Chemical Methods," SW-846, 2nd edition, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, <br />
