The attached report describes the study, findings, conclusions, and recommendations
for use in project design and construction.
It is Kleinfelder's professional opinion that construction for the proposed project is geotechnically
feasible using conventional earthmoving equipment and shallow spread foundation systems,
provided settlement tolerances can be incorporated into the design. The presence of moderately
to highly plastic clays are the main geotechnical issue of concern. Additionally, ground shaking
due to regional earthquake activity is anticipated during the life of the project and should be
considered in project design. Recommendations for use in design of foundations, site grading,
pavements, and other geotechnical considerations are presented in this report and should be
incorporated into project design and construction.
Kleinfelder appreciates the opportunity to provide geotechnical engineering services during the
design phase of this project. If there are any questions concerning the information presented in
this report, please contact this office at your convenience.
Respectfully submitted,
ESS1C3,
KLEINFELDER, INC. ,+ • H'f
X3027 '
 t*rc
OFC
James A.
