KLE/NFELOER
Bright People.Right Solutions.
1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 GENERAL
This report presents the results of our geotechnical investigation for the proposed Air Cargo
Facility to be located at the Stockton Metropolitan Airport (SCK), south of the intersection of B
Street and Earhart Avenue in Stockton, California. A Site Vicinity Map showing the location of the
project site is presented on Figure 1. This report contains a description of our site investigation
methods and findings including field and laboratory data. It also provides our geotechnical
conclusions and recommendations for earthwork, foundation types, and other construction
considerations. Conclusion and recommendations presented in this report are based on the
subsurface conditions encountered at the locations of our explorations and our previous
experience in the area.
1.2 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
It is our understanding that the proposed project consists of construction of a new steel framed
warehouse structure, totaling approximately 56,000 square feet. The structure will likely employ
a slab-on-grade floor system and will be supported by conventional spread footings. Building
loads are currently unknown but are anticipated to be relatively light to moderate. The area
surrounding the warehouse will consist of parking areas and driveways on the north and west of
the proposed building. The existing apron to the east will be extended westward to the proposed
building. Appurtenant construction includes asphalt and concrete pavements, exterior concrete
flatwork, underground utilities and a bioretention basin.
The proposed Air Cargo Facility location is shown on Figure 1, Site Vicinity Map. The approximate
locations of our exploration locations are provided on Figure 2, Exploration Location Map, and on
Figure 3, Preliminary Site Plan and Exploration Location Map. The exploration locations were not
surveyed; therefore, the locations shown on Figures 2 and 3 should be considered approximate.
If the project differs from the Conceptual Site Plan or the details described above, we should be
contacted to review the modifications and provide supplemental recommendations, if appropriate.
20210067.001A/ST020R111447 Page 1 of 37 May 11, 2020
©2020 Kleinfelder www.kleinfelder.com
