Page 2 of 4 <br /> Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: Highly flammable. Vapors can flow along surfaces, <br /> reach distant ignition sources and flash back. Can <br /> react violently with oxidizing agents. Firefighters <br /> should wear self-contained breathing apparatus and <br /> full protective clothing. <br /> SECTION V - HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION <br /> The primary routes of entry are by: Inhalation, Skin contact <br /> EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: <br /> Eye: Moderately irritating to the eyes. <br /> Skin: Prolonged and repeated liquid contact can cause defatting and drying of the <br /> skin resulting in skin irritation and dermatitis. <br /> Inhalation: This product may cause irritation to the nose, throat, and respiratory tract. <br /> Prolonged inhalation of elevated concentrations may result in liver and kidney <br /> damage. Overexposure to vapors can cause bronchopneumonia, with fatal <br /> pulmonary edema at high concentrations. Repeated exposure to high level <br /> benzene concentrations may produce injury of the blood-forming tissues <br /> causing blood abnormalities and possibly leukemia. <br /> Ingestion: This product may be harmful or fatal if swallowed. Ingestion may result in <br /> vomiting; aspiration (breathing) of vomitus into the lungs must be avoided as <br /> even small quantities may result in pneumonitis. <br /> EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES: <br /> Eye Contact: Flush with water for 15 minutes while holding eyelids open. Get medical <br /> attention. <br /> Skin Contact: Flush with water while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Follow by <br /> washing with soap and water. Do not reuse clothing or shoes until cleaned. <br /> If irritation persists, get medical help. <br /> Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air and provide oxygen if breathing is difficult. Rescue <br /> breathing should be performed if victim has stopped breathing. Get medical <br /> attention. <br /> Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs spontaneously, keep head below <br /> hips to prevent aspiration of liquid into the lungs.
