Dermal care <br /> Leave the bandage on the dermal anchor for the first 24 <br /> hours. The pressure of the bandage helps hold the jewelry , <br /> in place, allowing tissue to begin growing through the <br /> holes of the base. <br /> Wash your hands with hot water and soap before cleaning <br /> your dermal piercing. Never touch your dermal jewelry <br /> unless you are cleaning it. <br /> Saturate a sterile gauze pad with H2O solution or your <br /> own solution and press it firmly against your jewelry for 10 <br /> minutes, once a day to loosen any dried blood and plasma. <br /> Take a paper towel and gently go underneath the dermal to <br /> get into the hard to reach spots. <br /> Cover your jewelry with a fresh waterproof bandage before <br /> going to bed at night and when taking a shower. You can <br /> keep the bandage off during the day to allow air flow. <br /> Choose a bandage that forms a tight seal all the way around <br /> the piercing. Leave the bandage on when you shower in the <br /> morning to prevent shampoo or regular soap from getting <br /> into the piercing. Remove the bandage and clean your <br /> piercing separately after you shower. <br /> You are able to change your dermal head in about 3 weeks. <br /> You must always be careful with your dermal as they can <br /> rip out easily. If you are doing a activity that would cause <br /> harm to your dermal wear a band aid. <br />
