SECTION V <br /> TECHNIQUES TO PREVENT THE CONTAMINATION OFI T <br /> OR THE <br /> PROCEDURE SITE DURING THE PERFORMANCE OF BODY ART <br /> Describe the use of barrier film, dental wraps, absorbent pads, paper towels, aprons, bibs,wax <br /> paper, aluminum foil, plastic wrap and any other film used in your facility prior to the <br /> performance of body art: Describe what equipment is covered and with what type of barrier is <br /> used in each instance: Barrier film is used to protect the surfaces of power supplies and <br /> adjustable lighting. Dental bibs are used to cover procedural surfaces and to absorb any <br /> excess ink or water that may occur during procedure. Bibs are also used to protect piercing <br /> area. Plastic wrap or disposable sheets will be used to cover all procedure tables or chairs <br /> that come in contact with customer during the procedure. <br /> If skin at the procedure site is to be shaved, describe the solution used to prepare the skin,type <br /> of razor, and the method of razor disposal: Skin is prepped with isopropyl alcohol prior to <br /> shaving. A disposable razor is used to shave the area and disposed of in the sharps container <br /> after use. <br /> What solution or transfer agent is used to apply stencils or mark piercing sites? <br /> Green soap or Stencil Stuff to transfer. Gentian Violet or single use skin markers. <br /> What Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn during these procedures? <br /> Tattooing: Gloves, single use apron, disposable arm sleeves <br /> Piercing: Gloves, single use apron <br /> Branding: <br /> Permanent Cosmetics: Gloves, single use apron,disposable arm sleeves <br /> Washing of contaminated instruments or items: Gloves, single use apron, disposable arm <br /> sleeves, protective eye wear <br /> Page 12 of 24 <br />
