i <br /> Medical Waste Management Plan <br /> Kaiser Permanente—Stockton Medical Offices <br /> 1/01/16-12/31/16 <br /> Examples of trace chemotherapy waste are: <br /> a Contaminated gowns,gloves,masks,cleaning clothes,and barriers <br /> Empty:IV tubing,IV bagstbottles,syringes,drug vial <br /> A person may consolidate into a common container, <br /> Non-RCRA Pharmaceutical wastes—waste pharmaceuticals which are not federally which may be reusable,sharps waste,as defined in <br /> hazardous(non-RCRA),radioactive or classified as municipal solid waste(trash). Section 117755,and pharmaceutical wastes,as defined in <br /> *Pharmaceutical waste classified by the federal Drug Enforcement Agency(DEA)as Section 117747.The container shall be labeled with the <br /> "controlled substances*are disposed in compliance with DEA requirements. biohazardous waste symbol and the words'HIGH HEAT <br /> ONLY,"'INCINERATION,'or other label approved by the <br /> department on the lid and on the sides,so as to be visible <br /> from any lateral direction. <br /> (b) Storage area description with storage methods utilized for each waste stream including <br /> pharmaceutical waste: <br /> • The facility maintains a secured area for storage of biohazardous waste <br /> pending disposal. <br /> • The storage area is marked with warnings that read in English and Spanish <br /> "Caution biohazardous Waste Storage Area—Unauthorized Persons Keep <br /> Out". <br /> • These signs are legible from a distance of at least 25 feet. <br /> • Biohazardous waste shall not be stored on-site for more than seven days prior <br /> to disposal. <br /> (c) Onsite treatment facility description,including type of treatment utilized <br /> maximum capacity,time and temperature necessary,alternate contingency plan <br /> in case of equipment failure. <br /> • Currently do not conduct onsite treatment of medical waste.
