HSC 117630 The large biohazard bags in use in the facility do not meet the ASTM D-1709 and the ASTM D-1922 standards. Only use bags that meet both the ASTM D-1709 and the ASTM D-1922 standards. Biohazard bag is not placed in a rigid container that is leak resistant, tightly lid, clean, in good repair and appropriately labeled. -Biohazardous waste shall be bagged and placed in a rigid container which is leak resistant, have tight-fitting cover, and be kept clean and in ood rer. Container shall be labeled with the words"Biohazardous Waste"or"BIOHAZARD"on the lid and on the si es so as t6136 visible from any lateral direction. HSC 118280(c) A biohazardous waste container in Women's Health room 2.04 was not labeled as to be visible from all lateral directions. (This violation was corrected during the inspection.). All corrections are due to the EHD by 5/3/2019. Notes: 1) Stericycle is the licensed medical waste hauler for the facility. Medical waste is pick-up once per week. 2) The Medical Waste Management Plan for the facility has the required information, and annual training records were available for review. 3) The smaller biohazard bags in use in the facility meet both ASTM D-1709 and ASTM D-1922 standards.
