Stand away from the unit to allow the safe release of any steam that may be inside the unit and lift <br />the locking latch at the top. <br />3. Turn the arrow knob on the unit handle to the up position. Move the handle up and down until <br />the door releases. <br />4. Open door, fasten the door open with the hook attached to the back wall to prevent the door from <br />closing on you. <br />C. Holding drawer. <br />1 To open drawer, place the rails down, check for proper alignment. When aligned, pull the drawer <br />out. <br />2. To close, push the drawer back into the unit, lift rails, unlock door from the wall. <br />D. When filling the sterilizing unit, the drawer must not be filled beyond 75% maximum capacity for <br />processing of each load. Never overload the drawerl <br />1 The bags must be closed securely with a twister r tied into a knot before placement inside the <br />unit. <br />2. The contents of each bag will not exceed 50% fluid as a total volume. <br />E. Closing the unit door. <br />1. Turn the arrow knob on the autoclave handle to the down position. <br />2. Move the handle up and down until the door is closed well. Do not force closed with strength. <br />3. When initially closing the door, place your hand on the door handle and push lightly. <br />4. When closed, close the locking lever at the top. <br />F. To activate the processing cycle, place the key into the switch and turn it to start. The key will <br />automatically return to the start position. Remove the key from the switch and return it to the janitors <br />room immediately. <br />G. Emergency stop button is located near the switch is a RED button for use to stop the cycle in emergency <br />situations only. <br />V. REMOVAL OF STERILIZED WASTE FOR COMPACTION/DISPOSAL <br />A. Obtain keys for unit from the basement janitors room. <br />B. Do not attempt to open the door of unit unless the pressure gauge has no reading indicated. Always <br />check the gauge first to make sure it is at "0" (zero). <br />I Check the graph to assure the load has processed at the right temperature and for the proper <br />length of time. <br />2. Open the door to the graph chart and record the date, time, and initials prior to unloading the <br />processed load. This is required for each time the unit is emptied. <br />3. Unlock the padlock and move the chain out of the locked position. Do not remove lock and <br />chain away from the unit. <br />4.
