Lodi Health (LH) <br />accepts no medical waste from any other facility and is registered as a Large Quantity Generator. The information provided on the <br />Medical Waste Management Plan (MWMP) is complete and accurate. <br />LH identifies processes involved in the Medical Waste Management Plan and to comply with the California Medical Waste <br />Management Act, Department of Health Services, Health and Safety Code Sections 117600-118360 for the purpose of managing <br />the medical waste it generates, <br />Procedure <br />A. Medical waste is removed from the facilities by a registered medical waste hauler and treated at an approved off-site <br />treatment facility. The following is a representation of estimated total pounds of medical waste removed during a monthly <br />period from each facility: <br />West Facility 84 pounds/month <br />Main Facility 4,480 <br />Conrad Building 2,062 <br />All Clinic Facilities 118 <br />1. LH does not generate Pathology Waste, All human anatomical parts, surgery specimens and tissue are transferred from <br />the hospital by Smith -Kline Laboratories for analysis by Delta Pathology Associates, 2291 W. March Lane, Ste #179. <br />Stockton, CA 95207. <br />a. After final processing, the specimens become waste and are the responsibility of Delta Pathology Associates. <br />B. LIMITED QUANTITY HAULING EXEMPTION <br />Staff in approved patient care areas such as Home Health Agency, Laboratory Services, Clinic Services, etc., that provide <br />extended health care services outside the confines of the hospital facility, are authorized to provide limited hauling of small <br />quantities of medical waste back to a designated facility for disposal. <br />1. The current list of authorized personnel is on file with copies of authorization provided to the individual staff member. <br />Procedures for final disposal of this medical waste fall into the same categories as those in place within the facility itself. <br />a.
