Waste Stream: Sharps Disposal <br />Containers <br />• Needles and sharps <br />• Scalpels <br />• Razors <br />• Surgical Pins, clips, staples <br />• Broken glass vials <br />• Capillary tubes <br />• Glass syringes <br />NOTE: Do NOT put tubing, <br />alcohol swabs, gauze, tape, <br />or pharmaceutical waste <br />into sharps container <br />Waste Stream: Pharmaceuticals <br />• Partially used or wasted prescription or over-the- <br />counter medication <br />• tubexes, carpujects with (pourable) medication <br />• IV bags and tubing with (pourable) medication <br />• Do not cut and drain IV fluids into the 8 gallon <br />containers as this can create a "chemical cocktail' <br />of free flowing liquids.
