Reusable pails, drums, dumpsters, or bins used for medical waste are used for solid waste containment without <br />being properly decontaminated. <br />- A person shall not use reusable pails, drums, dumpsters, or bins used for medical waste for the containment of solid <br />waste, or for other purposes, except after being decontaminated by the procedures specified in HSC 118295 and <br />removal of all medical waste labels. HSC 118305 -There is a sharps waste container containing non-medical <br />waste material (food). Submit written or photographic evidence of compliance within 30 days. <br />Notes: 1. In the area where the medical waste is being stored for pickup and transport to the designated accumulation <br />area, the biohazard bins now contain biohazard waste stored in red biohazard bags only (no more clear <br />plastic bags). <br />2. Reminder that sharps and vials/bottles with medication must go in a pharmaceutical waste container. <br />Reinspecion onlabout: A reinspection fee of $130 per hour may be charged.
