St. Joseph's Medical Center <br />Policies and Procedures <br />305.0 COMPACTION EQUIPMENT (CRAM -A -LOT) <br />1. Check the area to ensure that all persons are clear of the compactor and power <br />unit. <br />2. Load the cart onto the cart tipper. <br />3. Turn the key on, depress the start button and hold for approximately two seconds. <br />The hydraulic will start and continue running. <br />4. Raise the cart with the cart tipper switch in the raised position. After the cart tips <br />and empties, lower the cart with the tipper switch in the lower position until the <br />cart has returned to the start position. <br />5. Waste can now be compacted by turning the mode tipper switch to compactor. <br />6. If there is more than one cart to empty repeat steps 4 and 5. <br />7. Turn the key to the off position and the compactor will complete its' cycle and <br />automatically turn off. <br />8.
