Containers of untreated medical waste will be labeled with a "biohazard" or <br /> "infectious medical waste"water-resistant label affixed to the outside of the <br /> container. <br /> Warning labels 2_Warning labels trust be large enough to erasure that they are clearly visible and <br /> readable f5rom a distance of at least five(5)feet. <br /> Storage locations 3. Containers of medical waste will be stored in the following location(s): <br /> NOTE: Containers must be protected from the wind,rain and water. <br /> Refrigeration of Medical 4. Medical waste that is likely to decay or rot before being treated,disposed of,or <br /> Wastes picked up,will be refrigerated or kept in a manner that prevents the waste from <br /> decaying or rotting until it has been properly disposed of. Medical wastes meeting <br /> this criteria will be maintained at the following location(s): <br /> Protection of Medical 5_ Medical wastes roust be stored so that it is protected from animals and does not <br /> Wastes provide a food source for insects and rodents <br /> Outside Storage 6. Containers or buildings that are used to store medical wastes and sharps outdoors <br /> (e.g.dumpsters,shed,etc.)will be locked at all times to prevent unauthorized access_ <br /> Access to Medical Wastes 7.
