Upenha Nurspng&Rehabplltatiort-Cent <br /> Plan of Correction (POC) <br /> HSC 117960 — LQG shall file MWMP with EA <br /> Vienna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is submitting an updated Medical Waste <br /> Management Plan to EHD to update a more accurate reflection of the facility's medical <br /> waste generation based on the 2018 data from Stericycle. <br /> #12. The Medical Waste Management Plan estimates that only 1-1.5 pounds of <br /> medical waste is generated by the facility monthly. <br /> POC: Please refer to Page 4 of Vienna Medical Waste Management Plan. <br /> The estimate monthly amount of medical waste generated at Vienna <br /> Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is approximately between 40-150 <br /> pounds <br /> HSC 118275 — Medical, biohazardous, sharps or pharmaceutical shall be segregated <br /> and contained pursuant to this section. The container shall be properly labeled. <br /> #24. The pharmaceutical waste container shall be labeled with the date on the <br /> date it is placed in use. Submit correction and in-service training. <br /> POC: Please refer to Page 8 of Vienna Medical Waste Management Plan. <br /> Pharmaceutical waste that are not subject to the Federal Resource Conservation <br /> and Recovery Act of 1976 and that are regulated as medical waste are segregated <br /> and packaged into appropriate containers, separated from biohazardous waste and <br /> sharp waste. When a new pharmaceutical container is started for use of <br /> pharmaceutical waste, the container shall be labeled with the date on the <br /> date it is placed in use. The container is labeled with the biohazardous waste <br /> symbol and the words "HIGH HEAT" or"INCINERATION ONLY", or with another <br /> label approved by the CDPH, on the lid and sides, so as to be visible from any <br /> lateral direction. <br /> In-service training was conducted on February 22, 2019 with Licensed Nurses on <br /> controlled substances including proper labeling of dates for pharmaceutical <br /> containers and documentation. <br /> HSC 118280 -- Biohazard bags shall be containerized and stored pursuant to this <br /> section <br /> #25. Two of the biohazardous waste containers in the outside storage are not <br /> labeled on the sides as to be visible from all lateral directions. <br /> POG: Please refer to Page 7 of Vienna Medical Waste Management Plan. <br /> All red biohazard waste bags packaged for disposal are contained into a USDOT-- <br /> approved containers lined with a biohazard bag that is ASTM D1709 and <br />
