Types of medical waste generated at our facility are as follows: blood <br />and body fluids, sharps, isolation wastes, and wound dressings. <br />2. An estimated monthly amount of medical waste generated at our <br />facility is 375 lbs. <br />3. Medical Waste handling procedures: <br />a. All regulated waste destined for disposal shall be placed in <br />closable leakproof containers or bags that are color coded or <br />labeled as required and stored in an identified closet until BFI <br />Medical Waste Haulers picks it up. <br />b. Storage area is a large closet in west wing of the facility. We only <br />use infectious waste boxes and bags supplied by BFI. BFI will <br />pick up twice a week. <br />C.
